What are the chances of getting Genital Herpes from someone who has not had any outbreak in 2 years?
My boyfriend told me after we had sex that he has genital herpes. He has not had an outbreak in over two years. I have no signs of outbreak, and have gone for the lab test. But what would the chances be of me having it?
condoms can help reduce the risk by 50%. i have it and my bf didn’t. he “didn’t care” and just let time run its course (no protection used). when we moved in together after a years and a half of a sexual relationship he got it too. the stress of moving caused me to get an outbreak.
also, a new partner can trigger outbreaks so you will need to be careful that he doesn’t get one. symptoms in a newly infected person will range from about 5 – 21 days after exposure.
