I take a bath in salt (epsom salt or table salt) -but use alot of it….Table salt is very inexpensive and is a natural healer of sores!
When my sores are new & the virus is at its worst I take a warm bath full of salt & soak a bit. Salt both drys them out & heals them
Some days the sore is so large that I actually put a handful of salt (yes, it stings) on it….it helps to dry it out quicker

I use peroxide after every trip to the bathroom…
If she can get to a point when she does NOT have a sore – I find that if I feel tingling or itching (means a sore is coming) I use rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer (mostly alcohol) several times a day (usually after using the rest room) on the area that tingles or itches and sometimes it can actually keep the sore from breaking thru the skin!
