Am I having a bad reaction to a medication or is it genital herpes?
I had a checkup with my GYN and was diagnoced with a yeast infection. I filled the prescription for the yeast infection and began using it. The next day I had sores and blisters apear, the blisters began to seep later that day. I went to the E.R. and they told me that because I had medication for the yeast infection in my system, that the bilsters and sores could be a bad reaction to the medication. I was told to use diaper-rash cream and baby wipes to reduce the sorness. The E.R. doctor said that I have a yeast infection (gave me the Diflucan pill) and dermatitis (that’s what the diaper-rash cream is for). It has been two days and nothing has changed, the blisters are still there and are still seeping.
The blisters are very painful, and no the E.R. doctor did not do any tests. I was told that if it wasn’t better in three days, to return to the E.R.
You should have had a culture done on one of the “blisters” to be sure, but with the timing of it all, I think that you are likely to be just having a reaction to the med, especially if there was itching involved with the yeast infection. I don’t know if I would put anything else moist on them. If it were me I would take a very hot bath, dry off Very Well, where white cotton underwear, or if you are a home, maybe just pj’s no underwear for a few hours. You can try an old school recipe and just throw a little bit of cornstarch in a hot skillet, brown it slightly, let it cool and use as powder over the blisters. That way you are removing anything with any moisture in it or perfumes to aggrivate the area.
I really do think that you should be fine, but the docs are right, don’t mess around if you don’t have significant change in the next 3/4 days.

That is one of the biggest problems with herpes. What do you have to lose? I don’t know why I should try to fend off that anyway. Studies have shown this herpes makes a person feel happier and I wasn’t born yesterday. I remember reading something with regard to this somewhere where I don’t need to beat around the bush.
