It really bothers me to think that the first thing out of a loved one’s mouth WOULDN’T be; “That sounds painful, how do you feel today?” Especially about something that, besides having sex, you couldn’t much prevent.
I guess I do want to tell you that everything will be ok. It’s definitely a humbling disease. I’m sure it’s especially hard if a person has relied on their sex-appeal to meet guys or likes to “play the field” before making a life choice. It doesn’t sound like you’re either of these types of people. With integrity, and a good heart you will meet good guys but don’t let this disease define who you are. You are still you; learning about life, right and wrong, and hopefully growing in wisdom every day. I can’t imagine what paraplegics think about in regards to intimacy but they still wake up in the morning with the same hopes of love, just as all of us do.
I don’t know if any of this helps but maybe think of this as a time to show the best You; help the poor, teach what you have to give, pray for others, and maybe even become an advocate to abolish stigmas that are attached to these sorts of illnesses. And if a special guy isn’t on board with having you in his life in whatever package you come in, then he just isn’t that special.
